![]() Soon-to-be-former VW Group CEO Herbert Diess confirmed earlier this year that Porsche was targeting an F1 entry for 2026 along with sister brand Audi. Porsche raced as a Formula 1 constructor in the Sixties, achieving a win at the 1962 French Grand Prix with Dan Gurney driving, and designed and built the legendary TAG Turbo V-6 for McLaren in the Eighties. The partnership between Red Bull and Porsche was supposed to be announced at the Austrian Grand Prix a few weeks ago, but a delay by the FIA in approving new engine regulations for 2026 pushed this back. These engines will be built by Red Bull Powertrains, a company set up to run the Honda engines powering Red Bull cars after the Japanese firm exited F1 last year. Red Bull, along with its junior team, AlphaTauri, will likely run Porsche-branded engines starting in 2026. As notes, Porsche and Red Bull are required to get permission various anti-trust organizations around the world before a deal can be done. The document revealing this was posted by Morocco's anti-trust body, the Conseil de la concurrence. Porsche and Red Bull will sign a 10-year deal, set to be formally announced on August 4th. According to documents discovered by, Porsche intends to buy a 50 percent stake in Red Bull Racing.
